PROJECTUS IS WHERE PROPERTY MEETS

PURPOSE.

Best outcomes for Aotearoa, via the built environment. Why are we so dedicated to improving our built environment? Look around — Our natural and built surroundings profoundly impact us as individuals and communities. At Projectus, we understand the immense privilege and responsibility of shaping these environments. Each project we undertake leaves a lasting impact on our people, our children, and our communities, crafting a legacy for future generations. As leaders in this field, we are committed to ensuring every project we deliver makes a positive impact, both now and for the generations to come.

OUR STRATEGIC PRIORITIES

Three pillars that underpin our purpose, through our everyday actions, inspiring our industry and communities.

REDEFINE VALUE.

Leading through innovation, transformation, and service excellence, we are creating a more resilient and competitive business. Our team is also at the forefront of industry leadership, driving broader benefits for our suppliers, partners, and communities.

  • ✱ Service excellence focused on outcomes.

✱ Build a strong and resilient business that manages risk effectively.

✱ Wellbeing and health and safety back up everything we do.

✱ Partner with organisations and peers to innovate and transform the built industry.

PROSPER TOGETHER.

At our core, people drive our business. While we pursue collective goals, we also recognize individual ambitions. This extends to all stakeholders and community groups impacted by our work. We empower and support each other, our clients, communities and partner organisations to embrace challenges and collectively create a difference for all.

  • ✱ Develop and inspire our people to thrive.

✱ Partner with clients whose ambitions complement ours.

✱ Encourage and actively facilitate a diverse and inclusive Projectus, and industry wide culture.

✱ Empower our communities for success.

BUILD TO LIVE.

The built environment is pivotal for a sustainable world. Despite the industry's slow pace of adaptation, we are stepping up to the challenge, setting ambitious goals to ensure that we, along with our clients and partners, contribute to a world where communities thrive both now and in the future.

  • ✱ Keep developing the expertise and leadership to lead the construction industry in sustainability and circular economy, setting a benchmark for others to follow.

✱ Procure and manage our resources responsibly.

✱ Empower and motivate our clients to advance their carbon reduction goals.

✱ Achieve our net zero carbon goals.

✱ Ensure projects yield a net biodiversity increase compared to pre-development levels.

BROADER OUTCOMES

Project delivery is an opportunity to offer more than just meting operational needs and financial profits. As a dedicated industry leader, we prioritise creating lasting impacts that go beyond the usual — focusing on social, environmental, economic, and cultural outcomes.

We start shaping our approach to these broader impacts right from the get-go, by bringing everyone involved—internal and external stakeholders—into the conversation. We keep this vision alive through the whole project, from start to finish, making sure we're clear about our goals and open about our progress.

WHAT ACTION ARE WE TAKING TO ACHIEVE THIS? . . .

  • ✱ Partnering with likeminded individuals and organisations.

✱ Procure locally with social responsibility and best for project outcomes.

✱ Operate according to our “110% approach”; do best on every project, then plan and action to do 10% better next time.

  • ✱ Build cost-effective projects that withstand environmental challenges.

✱ Deliver high-quality infrastructure suited for current and future generations.

✱ Encourage and explore innovation in design and construction techniques.

  • ✱ Grow our own diverse and inclusive workplace.

✱ Provide attainable pathways into senior leadership positions.

✱ Become an industry leader in providing extension pathways from trades into construction professional roles such as project management, quantity surveying and the like.

  • ✱ Respect and preserve cultural heritage in construction practices.

✱ Ensure meaningful engagement with local iwi and hapū in the planning stages of projects.

✱ Keep developing and implementing our Te ao Māori Project Delivery Framework.

✱ Prioritise operating in alignment with our Build to Live strategic priority in order to ensure the natural environment thrives alongside the built environment.

Sustainability in Construction

Sustainability is more than just green building—it’s about making sure every project we work on today stands strong and useful for tomorrow. We believe in using resources wisely and are focused on PRE-pare (prevent) rather than RE-pair (recover).

HOW WE’RE COMMITTED TO MAKING A DIFFERENCE . . .

  • ✱ Plan sustainability goals in project planning stage to guide all decision-making processes.

✱ Engage stakeholders in the planning process to ensure projects align with community and environmental needs.

✱ Monitor sustainability metrics continuously and adjust practices to meet environmental targets effectively.

  • ✱ Cut down construction waste by getting smarter with how we plan and reuse materials. Establish a baseline by 2025 and start the improvement cycle by 2026.

✱ Aim to reduce energy use during construction thanks to energy-saving equipment and better building practices. Establish a baseline by 2025 and start the improvement cycle by 2026.

  • ✱ Use native plants in our landscaping to keep local ecosystems thriving.

✱ Put measures in place to keep the soil stable and waterways clean around our sites.

  • ✱ Commit to, and keep developing and improving our knowledge in sustainable practices.

✱ Engage with individuals and organisations with objectives which complement ours.

✱ Run and engage in workshops to showcase insights, develop ideas with our peers.

Embracing a circular economy is key to how we approach construction. It’s about creating buildings that are ready to be reused, not just used; minimizing waste and rethinking resource usage are at the core of our projects.

WHERE WE SEE OPPORTUNITY TO CREATE POSITIVE IMPACT . . .

  • ✱ Focus on the uptake of recycled or reused materials on projects. Establish a baseline by 2025 and start the improvement cycle by 2026.

✱ Work closely with suppliers who are serious about materials that can be recycled or used again.

  • ✱ Explore and implement project make-up so that it can be easily taken apart and reused, where possible.

✱ Buildings that adapt to the needs of ever-changing local economies and ensure the asset's longevity.
